Social Media Marketing Specialist

OVERVIEW

The Social Media Marketing Specialist will support marketers on the team by building and strategizing engaging social media content for Ed2Market agency clients. Successful candidates will have a strong understanding of social media platforms including Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube. Candidates will need strong copywriting skills to develop unique content for various education-specific audiences and be highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

In this role, the Social Media Marketing Specialist will support external clients and the internal Ed2Market brand with various social media marketing initiatives. The Social Media Marketing Specialist may additionally support the execution of email campaigns, sales collateral, blogs, graphic design, advertising, and other admin-related marketing tasks as needed.

This role requires excellent organization and planning skills, the ability to prioritize between multiple tasks, a strong proficiency in written and verbal communication, and an aptitude for attention to detail.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

Development and Implementation of Social Media Marketing Campaigns

  • Build, execute, and scale monthly social campaigns using Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube, and continuously innovate on growth opportunities for maximum reach

  • Design, develop, and implement a consistent monthly social media calendar, ensuring that messaging, tone, and branding are cohesive and aligned throughout all client-facing written and visual content

  • Oversee comprehensive content asset management, which includes scheduling of content, maintaining a consistent monthly content calendar, and ensuring all creative files are appropriately stored, organized, and readily accessible

  • Act as a dedicated community manager, vigilantly monitoring, engaging with, and facilitating conversations across various social media channels and groups; this includes addressing inquiries, sharing relevant content, sparking discussions, and fostering a positive, engaging, and interactive online community environment

  • Showcase expertise in creating engaging video content for social media channels by developing organic social campaigns that employ performance optimization tactics, adhere to content best practices, and uphold creative design standards

  • Stay updated with the latest social media trends and best practices while analyzing social media metrics to ensure our strategies remain innovative, effective, and continually optimized for campaign success and improvement

  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in supporting additional social media channels and embracing new initiatives as they arise, including quickly learning new platforms, tools, or strategies, and seamlessly integrating them into the existing social media marketing approach to maximize brand exposure and engagement

  • Manage weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly social media reporting needs as directed by Marketing Strategists, offering growth recommendations based on past campaign data

Market Research and Analysis

  • Continually develop knowledge of the K-12 education and professional learning markets and understand the nuances between product types and service offerings

  • Stay abreast of both K-12 companies and marketing agencies/competitors and their marketing strategies, popular industry publications, influencers, and events

  • Analyze marketing response and data to make adjustments to strategies as needed

Ed2Market Agency Support

  • Assist the Managing Director with a broad spectrum of digital marketing needs, including email campaigns, website updates, content creation, sales collateral development, blog publishing, graphic design production, and strategic advertising execution

  • Undertake ad hoc projects as identified by Marketing Strategists, with the ability to pivot and adapt as needed

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Marketing or a related field

  • 2+ years of social media marketing, or related job experience in a corporate or agency setting

  • Experience in K-12 education, publishing, or edtech preferred (i.e., former teacher or employee with a K12 education company)

  • Marketing agency experience preferred

  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and leading video editing software

  • Experience managing business social media channels (versus personal accounts)

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Superior planning and organizational skills

  • Experience with marketing automation and social media management systems such as HubSpot, Social Pilot, Hootsuite, and Mailchimp preferred

  • Experience with web analysis tools such as Google Analytics preferred

  • Working knowledge of Google Suite products

  • Familiarity or willingness to learn productivity tools such as ClickUp and Slack

COMPENSATION

The hourly rate for this role for PT or contract positions is based on experience and skillset and will range from $32-50/hr.
